When visiting the African continent one can expect to be immersed in an exhilarating atmosphere, rich in history, art, culture, and an experience only Africa can provide. In the heart of the continent, in sub-Saharan Africa, lies the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), home to more than 90 million people. Considered to be the most Francophone city in the world, Kinshasa - the capital of the DRC, is also the largest city in the African continent. The capital is well known for its musical talent and produces a socially influencing industry of musicians across a variety of genres. The musical influences are also noted in the colourful and expressive paintings, lining the sidewalks as local painters attempt to sell their wares to passers-by.

Kinshasa has not only produced a treasure trove of musical influences, but also inspiring poets, flowering literary writers, thought provoking sculptural artists, and has ultimately managed to evoke an entire sector of creative expression. Its rich history of culture, immersed into every aspect of its presence, awakens a sense of revelation regarding the endless possibilities held in its grasp. As the city grows and applies its artistic prevalence to its economic expansions and tourism attractions it will continue to fascinate and inspire local artists.
